Wanna experience the culture of Ghana as intensively as possible? This workshop is then the right thing for you - a very special experience, definitely enriching and one of a kind. In this workshop, you'll learn how to drum and dance like the Ghanaians do! In addition, you'll the basics of the Twi language.

Please note that this workshop can only be booked in addition to the volunteer work programmes in Ghana!

Workshop on Twi, drumming and dance

Rooted deep in the century-old traditions, Ghana keeps a rich and energizing music and dance culture. Those travelling to Ghana will often have the chance to immerse themselves in the rhythms of the country by listening and watching.

However, it is even more fascinating to join in the thunderous drumming and ecstatic dancing. Whoever wants to discover the precious skills, can book an additional workshop.

Drumming workshop and volunteer work in Ghana

Workshop contents

This lasts for one week and takes place after the orientation days, before your project work begins.

Next to 10 lessons in drumming and dance, you will receive 10 lessons in Twi, a widely-used Ghanaian language, in this workshop.

You will be accommodated during the course with a host family, who will provide you full board.

The workshop includes

• 10 lessons in African dance and drumming
• 10 lessons in Twi (the Ghanaian language)
• A week’s accommodations with a host family, with full board
