Travel stories from Cape Town
With its unbelievable diversity of landscapes, languages, animals, and cultures, South Africa is one of the most fascinating and adventure-packed destinations in the world. The country is famous for the variety of animal species in its wildlife parks, expansive beaches, and superb wines.
The people and the country are absolutely fantastic!!
“I stayed mainly in Cape Town and its surroundings in order to work or to go on excursions with the friends I made there. There’s simply so much to see in Cape Town and you can experience so much! I worked in the “Place of Hope” and in several medical facilities. “Place of Hope” is a kind of shelter for raped, mistreated, and traumatised women and children. My main task was to occupy the children while their mothers went off to look for work.
In the mornings, I helped in the office, for example with telephone work, writing faxes or working on the computer. I carried out simple tasks in the medical facilities, such as applying bandages, and measuring blood pressure and pulses.
My stay in South Africa was a unique experience…the people and the country are simply fantastic. Everyone tries to show you their country in a different way, and everyone is so friendly and polite. All of this can’t be experienced in any standard all-inclusive holiday.”
