Voluntary Work in Peru: Short Programme

Combine a 2-week Spanish language course (you’ll spend one week in Cusco and one week in Taray), 10 hours a week of cultural workshops and excursions (a day-trip to Machu Picchu and a trip to the Holy Valley of the Inca) - with one week of voluntary work in Peru! Una mixtura maravillosa!
Voluntary Work in Peru
- Activities: You will be doing voluntary work in Peru in an orphanage, hospital, or children’s day care centre, where you will help out with homework and free-time activities, care for children, or teach English. Project placements are assigned to participants; you will not be able to choose your project.
- Free Time: Usually at the weekend.
- Duration: 3 weeks.
- Application: At least 2-3 months before your departure. We are happy to accept applications much earlier than this for voluntary work in peru.
- Starting Dates: 26 July, 13 Sept., 8 Nov. 2010. Placement opportunities are limited between the middle of December and April, because many institutions are closed due to holidays.
- Practical Experience: Not necessary for most projects, although experience would make your stay a bit easier.
- Other: Life in Peru is not as thoroughly organised as it is in Europe. Therefore, personal initiative, flexibility, and creativity are indispensable for voluntary work in Peru. Travel experience is also an advantage.
