Work experience in Italy

I really enjoyed my stay…

I really enjoyed my stay. I was in a small town in Kalabrien. At first it was really unfamiliar, because I have always lived in a big city, but it turned out to be a good thing, because everyone knows everybody else – like a big family. As for my hotel work as a waitress: I worked during lunch and supper. During mealtimes, I was responsible for the buffet. After that I tidied everything up with the other workers, cleaned, and prepared the tables for the next mealtime. During the peak season, we had lots of guests (about 450), so our work days were much longer, and we couldn’t have a free day each week. As a result, I only had to work 6 hours during the final weeks, and I received the free days which I had missed earlier.
