Charity Work in India: Himachal Pradesh

THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED
"My stay in India was definitely the best thing I have ever experienced in my life. I know for certain that I want to return there some day. I was in Delhi only for a night's stay before heading off to Jaipur. Here we had much more time for sightseeing: we took a tour of the Amber Fort, rode on an elephant, went shopping and visited the Raj Mandir Cinema to watch a Bollywood movie.
In Himachal I worked in a school for mentally disabled children in the morning, and in the afternoons I worked in an orphanage. Every morning I drove to school at 9 o'clock, the children arriving a little later at 9:45 a.m. We would start out the mornings with a salutation and minor gymnastics with all the children.
Afterwards, I had the opportunity to do some individual tutoring with an assigned pupil. The principal had instructed me to solve minor math problems with the children and to teach them how to read the clock. In the afternoon around 4:30 p.m., I went to the orphanage for an hour to play, dance and sing with the children or to do some crafts with them!
My stay in India was perfectly organised and it was good to have a contact person at all times. I can only recommend travelling to India; it's such a magnificent country with the dearest people. I think of India almost every day and will definitely never forget my stay there!"
