But how about trying something completely different? Experience work where other people spend their holidays: e.g. in Andalusia, Majorca or the Canary Islands! Work is a lot more rewarding when you are surrounded by beautiful beaches, inspiring idylls and friendly fellow people!

Due to Spain's tremendous tourism industry, there are plenty of possibilities in the hotel- and catering fields. The money you earn here will finance your stay on the palm-fringed beaches. Spanish language course

Hablamos español – in case you don’t have much knowledge of Spanish, an advanced language course needs to be attended before getting a job. The reason for this circumstance is that the customers, your colleagues and superiors in the hotel have to rely on good language skills.

But are your Spanish skills rather basic or are you still uneasy in your command of the language? Then take the opportunity of attending a two to four-week language course! The course consists of 20 lessons per week, each lasting 50 minutes, in the wonderful city of Seville at the heart of Andalusia. Together with a maximum of 10 people per class, you get the chance to refresh and expand your Spanish skills.

So that you can find friends as quickly as possible, we also recommend that you take advantage of the leisure time activities offered by the school, such as excursions. During the course, you will be living in a single room in an apartment-sharing community with other language students or Spanish people. You cater for yourself. On request, you are welcome to extend the language course by one further week. You then pay 310 € (280 £; 420$)
per additional week’s lessons.

Seville

The proud and stately capital city of Andalusia lies on the River Guadalquivir and enjoys an international reputation for its history and culture. Seville does not just await you with its own special charm, but also with its different World Heritage sites: including the impressive cathedral and the Alcázar palace.

Wander through the streets and parks of the city; try tapas in one of the many tapas bars; explore the magnificent buildings partly influenced by the Moorish style in the city and follow the colourful bustle on the squares and in the side streets in the evening. Whoever comes to Seville before April will experience the two big festivities - Semana Santa with its resplendent processions and Feria de Abril!

Overview: Hotel work in Spain

Duration: Minimum 3 months (summer months: 2 months, but in every case until the end of the season August/mid- September). Maximum is 6 months.
Applications: At least 3-4 months before departure. The earlier, the better.
Programme start: Every Monday (except for public holidays), especially possible in the months of April to July. Also possible in other months, depending on job availability. Arrivals are on Sundays.
Other: After booking the programme you will write an application according to our guidelines. Working in the hotel industry requires hard work, being flexible (especially concerning working hours and shift work), a good command of the spanish language, dealing with people in a nice manner and - of course- having an appealing and presentable appearance.
