After completing your language course, you can immediately begin your volunteer work Ecuador, in one of the projects in and around Quito, or in the country. Your volunteer work in Ecuador will last 4 weeks, and can be extended for an additional fee for accommodation and meals.
Possible volunteer work in Ecuador
- Quito & Surroundings: Here, you could volunteer in schools, hospitals, children's day care centres, or nursing homes, caring for street children or assisting people with disabilities. Accommodation in a flat, meals not included. If the flat is booked out, you will stay in a hostel.
- Rural Areas: On the countryside, you will have the chance to work in educational or social projects or in eco-tourism, on organic farms, or in nature parks. Accommodation with host family, in a volunteer house, or at the project. Full board included.

Volunteer work in Ecuador: Two project examples
Ecological reservation
You'll find bamboo houses, cocoa plantations, and tropical fruit groves in this project, located 140 km northwest of Quito. Your volunteer work in Ecuador will include guiding tours, doing community work, or helping in botanical gardens or on fruit plantations. Thanks to the thriving ecological tourism in Ecuador, the local people increasingly value nature conservation. Pitch in and be a part of this positive development!
Children’s centre, Myra de Bruijn
This children's day-care centre, located south of Quito, cares for 50 children, ranging in age from 1 to 16 years. Your volunteer work in Ecuador in this project will include helping to supervise the children. You will be expected to play with the children, prepare meals, and do clean-up and renovation work.
This project has its very own vegetable garden about 2 hours away from Quito, to provide the children with healthy food. Volunteers are needed to work here as well.
