Fruit Picking in Australia

Australia is an incredible mix of vast red deserts and white-sand beaches, tropical rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef, sky-scraping modern cities and the great Outback - not to mention its assortment of exotic flora and fauna found nowhere else on earth. The Aussies offer foreign backpackers a myriad of paid work opportunities, and have come to count on temporary workers from abroad. Work and travel for a year in "Oz", and have the ultimate Australian adventure!

Vegetable & Fruit Picking in Australia

You will find that the climate is perfectly suited for year-round vegetable and fruit picking in Australia. Aside from this, groves of fruit need to be planted and trimmed, and weeds and pests need to be removed. No previous experience is required.

Bananas, mangos, grapes, avocados, melons... for a potential fruit or vegetable-harvester, the seasons and locations of the harvests are the most vital pieces of information. That's why you will receive a detailed harvest calendar on location, letting you know where to find potential harvesting and fruit picking jobs in Australia.

Aching muscles belong to this line of work, but fruit picking in Australia has its advantages. Not only will you be enjoying the fresh air in the company of other international backpackers, you will also earn decent money, because the work can be rather strenuous.

Farm Work with WWOOF

Willing Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF) is a nationwide network of specialised ecological farms that pay workers with meals and accommodation instead of money. WWOOF farms are usually smaller than the average Australian farm, and the working hours are restricted to just over half a day.

With WWOOF, you have an excellent and inexpensive way to experience Australian farm and family life. Membership in the WWOOF network is relatively inexpensive, comes with a list of all farms, and can be obtained from our local partners.
