Non-native English-speakers also have the chance to brush up on their language skills in an English Language Course in Sydney. On location, you will be expected to pay about AUS$ 50 for a national environment contribution, harbour tax, and administration fee.
The starting date can be shifted depending on availability. This is possible up to 48 hours before the planned course beginning date.

It is a natural world wonder and has been under the protection of UNESCO since 1981: the Great Barrier Reef. Lying before the east coast of Australia in the Pacific Ocean, the Reef consists of about 2,900 single reefs and is 2,000 kilometres long. 1,500 fish and 350 species of coral, as well as endangered species, like the manatee and green turtle live here in waters with an average temperature of 22-29 °C.

Great Barrier Reef: 5-Day Beginner’s Diving Course in Australia

5-day diving course in Australia

The internationally-recognised PADI diving certification course is a 5-day diving course for beginners. During the first two days of the diving course, you will learn the basics of diving in a classroom and in the swimming pool. During the remaining three days, you will stay on a diving boat with full board and will travel to various diving zones.
Depending on the weather, at the Great Barrier Reef you will experience:

Four training dives in order to complete your diving certification,
Up to 4 other dives, and
A guided night dive!

The 5-day beginner’s diving course begins every day aside from Sundays.

Great Barrier Reef - 3 days of diving in Australia

Learn to dive: Diving courses in Australia

You will dive or snorkel in up to four various diving areas on the outer reefs, seeing fish, corals, sea turtles, rays, and giant mussels. Depending on the weather, there will be up to eleven dives, of which two will be night dives, and you will have the opportunity to go snorkelling.

You will stay in a 2-person cabin on a modern boat, which will comfortably take you to the various diving areas of Milln Reef, Flynn Reef, Pellowe Reef, and Thetford Reef. Certified divers as well as snorkellers will start their diving adventures every day, not including Tuesdays. You will start out with transportation from the city of Cairns.
